Copper 1969-S Lincoln Memorial Cent, potential Doubled Die Obverse variety

The 1969-S Doubled Die Obverse (DDO) is one of the most famous and valuable error coins in American numismatics. This dramatic variety features strong doubling visible on the obverse inscriptions, particularly in 'LIBERTY' and 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' as well as the date. Only a small number of these error coins escaped the U.S. Mint in San Francisco, making authenticated specimens extremely rare and highly prized. The 1969-S DDO appeals to serious error coin collectors and Lincoln cent specialists who seek the most significant varieties in the series. Authenticated examples in high grades have sold for tens of thousands of dollars at major auctions.
